Color Up Rules

Periodically throughout each tournament, certain chips will be taken out of play (to make for easier counts of player stacks and a smoother game). There are many ways that this is done in tournament play. Below is an example of a CPL color up.

Player A has 10 white chips (value of $100)
During this color up he would be given 1 black chip ($100)

Player B has 15 white chips (value of $150)
Player receives 1 black chip ($100) and 2 green chips ($50)

Odd Chip Color Ups

Many times, a players chip stack may not be able to be colored properly. In those cases, chip values will be rounded UP during a color up.

Player A has 14 white chips ($140) when white chips are scheduled to be removed from the table.
Player received 1 black chip ($100) and 2 green chips ($50)
